Despite an earlier promise that Surveillance and Monitor 2 co-exist peacefully, we learned recently that there can only be one. And now we have a date for when Surveillance prime goes offline: October 2.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Surveillance sales manager Jon Spector explained that on October 2, Surveillance prime will die, and for about 24 hours the game will be offline to make way for Crystal Surveillance – uh – Monitor 2 October 4.

“So that means, in practice, October 2 is really the last day to come in and play. Surveillance 1,” Spector said Eurogamer.

The arrival of Monitor 2 brings significant and permanent changes to the game. With just under three weeks to go, here’s a list of things that go away when Surveillance prime get’s Old Yeller’d:

  • Assault game mode
  • The joy of a six-player Earthshatter
  • The space traffic jam
  • Ransack the arcade before the doors open in Hanamura
  • Watch players try and fail to close that gap
  • And this one

Get those last sweet, sweet assault matches while you still can.
