It’s amazing it took so long, but Grogu, better known as Baby Yoda, has now become a Tamagotchi.

The virtual pet toy will let you care for the cuter half of The Mandalorian by feeding him squid chowder and macaroons, playing mini-games, and unlocking a bunch of outfits. But beware: apparently “if you give the Grogu Tamagotchi too much squid chowder, the squid will jump on him.” Considering Grogu’s main personality trait is “hungry”, this seems like a perfect fit. Although it seems like there are grim possibilities depending on how you take care of the little guy. The tagline reads, “Can you successfully feed Grogu or will the Dark Trooper prevail first?”

The humble Tamagotchi has made a resurgence over the past few years, with new iterations including cameras, a smartwatch, and branded releases ranging from R2-D2 to BTS.

Bandai Namco says the Grogu toy will be available for pre-order “soon” on Amazon. As for The Mandalorianthe series will continue with a third season on Disney Plus in February 2023. In the meantime, the latest star wars series, Andorstarts streaming tomorrow.
